Markets, Sales & Harvest Manager
Job Description:
The Markets & Sales Manager co-manages the farm alongside the Field Manager. This position leads harvests, post-harvest, sales, and markets and is in charge of maintaining high quality product and community relationships.
Job Responsibilities Include:
-Manage all sales, markets, farm stand, farm card program, and donations: develop and cultivate relationships, availability and communications, quality control, presentation, customer service, delivery, invoicing, point of sale system data.
-Develop sales outlets to include: 5-10 restaurants part of Reunity’s food waste collection program ordering as regularly as possible & any other wholesale outlets as works/is sustainable/is needed
-Oversee all aspects of harvest and post-harvest handling: availability, quality control, wash/pack, food safety, storage. Ensure produce holds a high standard of quality of presentation, flavor, and cleanliness.
-Manage, train, and support farm crew, interns, and/or volunteers on harvest/wash/pack days to complete the tasks at hand in a food safe, efficient, high quality fashion. Manage and train crew, staff, and volunteers to work market and farm stand. Set work schedules for farm crew with Field Manager and set schedules for market & farm stand crew.
-Manage walk-in cooler.
-Manage donations and produce available for staff.
-Maintain and improve wash station infrastructure and tools and market/stand infrastructure and tools.
-Follow given budget to run farm operations related to harvest, post harvest handling, wash station, walk in, farm stand, farmers markets, farm card program, and deliveries.
-Maintain and improve general farm organization, cleanliness, and safety for visitors.
-Maintain records and data of all aspects of harvest and sales.
-Upkeep all farm related communications.
-On site customer service.
-Always be working toward the farm’s long term vision and goals.
About the organization:
Reunity Resources is a 501c3 not for profit organization located in Santa Fe, NM that models a closed loop food system, turning food waste into valued products and back again. The organization has 3 branches: food collection, compost operation, and farm. We collect food waste from local public schools, restaurants, and residents, bring it back to our property where we turn that food waste into premium compost and vermicompost, then use the compost on our farm fields to grow high quality and diverse vegetables for the community.
The farm, Reunity Farm, is about 1.5 acres in cultivation and is a highly trafficked area by visitors and volunteers. We focus on growing diverse vegetables for local sale at our on-site farm stand, farmers market, and to restaurants involved in our food collection program as well as offer a flexible CSA style program and donate all produce we can. 2020 will be Reunity Farm’s second official season- our goals are to continue focusing on and improving produce accessibility, community engagement, and to increase farm production.
