Land Trusts & Conservation

New Mexico Land Conservancy - As the only statewide land trust serving New Mexico, NMLC directs a significant portion of its resources to proactively conserving high conservation-value and productive agricultural land throughout the state.

Rio Grande Agricultural Land Trust aims to protect New Mexico’s natural resources and rural quality of life for Bernalillo, Sandoval, Sierra, Socorro, and Valencia Counties. RGALT, a community-supported, nonprofit, works with farmers and landowners who live in the Middle Rio Grande Valley and are dedicated to preserving working farms, ranches, wildlife habitat, and open space.

Santa Fe Conservation Trust - Since 1993, the Santa Fe Conservation Trust has partnered with many landowners to protect their properties in perpetuity. The Santa Fe Conservation Trust currently owns two fee properties and holds 96 conservation easements protecting over 42,000 acres.

Taos Land Trust - Taos Land Trust is a thirty-four-year-old non-profit that empowers people to protect the land and traditions they love through education, advocacy, and conservation. Taos Land Trust is an accredited member of the National Land Trust Alliance (LTA) in New Mexico and has formally adopted LTA Standards & Practices.
